Review of Whatever Works (2009) by Gabriela R — 01 Jun 2010
It's great, but I guess I expected a better ending from a movie that shows such a fine grip of what the Absurd "means". That is, the end was incoherent with the rest of the story, which was obviously the point, but we were warned right at the first scene that it was not a movie that would make us feel better at the end - but all the fellow human beings felt better exactly because of that final scene and what it represents.
The illusion never dies, it seems... but I just don't see myself as one to perpetuate the particular illusion this movie focus on.
