Review of Whatever Works (2009) by Mark S — 03 Mar 2013
This is a solid but unspectacular Woody Allen film. It kind of feels like he watched some Curb Your Enthusiasm and then tried to replicate that vibe with Larry David in another character, but Curb works because he is essentially expressing his inner thoughts, whereas here he is expressing the words of someone else, and he doesn't seem quite so effortless.
It's a decent comedy all the same but not one of Allen's best.
