Review of What We Do in the Shadows (2014) by Cade H — 09 Aug 2015
What We Do In The Shadows is an excellent comedic take on the vampire genre. It focuses on (documentary style) a group of vampires living in a house together in modern times. It was hilarious to see their normal interactions while out at night and how they would go about getting people to bring home and "suck their blood".
It pretty much took regular situations that a group of guys living together would be in but put a vampire spin on it. There were some great moments that had me rolling over laughing and also many missed laughs that didn't quiet hit the mark.
All of the characters were charming and fun to watch on screen and they each had their own personality that stood out. This one won't appeal to everyone as the comedy presented can be a bit dry and the documentary style might not suit everyones liking.
I thoroughly enjoyed this film and would have really enjoyed if it were an hour or so longer.
