What we do in the shadows is a mockumentary about four vampire roommates trying to get by in the modern age. If you enjoyed Flight of the Conchords, you are going to love this film. Co-written and directed by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waitit this film has an excellent mixture of the mundane and the absurd with a wonderfully dry wit and awkward situational humour that is a great spoof of serious vampire movies.
The three main vampires Vladislav, Viago and Deacon, played by Clement, Waititi and Joanathan Brugh are a perfect mix of outrageous and understated and old fashioned and 'hip' and play off each other brilliantly.
There are also appearances from Rhys Darby as Anton, one of the werewolves, Ben Fransham as Petyr, the nosferatu style vampire and the introduction of Stuart Rutherford as Stu, the human all the vampires are strangely fond of.
This is a funny, well written film than you can watch again and again.
