A film interestingly told from the little girl's perspective. Not overly sentimental, unlike some movies with similar topics, they want to make you cry. I can't help myself, I feel angry with the seflish behaviour of the parents.
I am surprised to found out it was based on a Victorian novel. It is a very well adapted version with very real issues.
