Fantastically written and acted horror film that oozed creep out of every pore. Where most horror films are unforgivably over the top...What Lies Beneath only is at some turns. It succeeds in easing you slowly into the realization that there's a *spoiler alert* corpse in the lake, then whacks you over the head with revealing the murderer.
It comes close periodically to becoming a little too unbelievable, but it always sucks you back in.
