Review of What Lies Beneath (2000) by Vadim D — 14 Feb 2015
There are some elements here that make you appreciate the "adult" and more sophisticated, thriller story. However, this is no Hitchcock, although it tries hard to be, and ultimately the film is paced way too slow to sustain a good and taught thriller.
Michelle Pfeiffer is definitely the best thing about this project and almost salvages the film. What I really don't understand is how this film was made for $100 million? Star salaries perhaps?
