Neon proof that even an Oscar-winning director (Barry Levinson), Oscar-winning actor (Robert de Niro), a solid cast, and a screenplay by producer Art Linson (in an adaptation of his own book) will not give you a good film.

Without a decent story, there is nothing. De Niro is wooden and the film has no third act. Static, disappointing, underwhelming - a flop.
