Review of What Is It? (2005) by Barton K — 17 Jun 2007
Crispin Glover's auteur demi-god masterpiece(in which he plays). Gathering such influences as diverse as Al Jolson and Werner Herzog, "What is it?" forces you to become part of the experience.
Most will be put off or offended by the film immediately. Scenes of cerebral palsy sexual encounters, down syndrome carried out snail killings, and swastika ornaments make for taboo cinematic success.
Great tunes by Charles Manson intensify the experience. Highly Recommended!
