A masterpiece in the Grand Guignol tradition. Aside from being a tad predictable, this film can do no wrong. Dynamite performances from the two stars, plus good work by the supporting cast, a brilliant script, suspenseful and tension filled, a grand score, plenty of creepiness and disturbing goings on, beautiful cinematography, and a perfect pace all conspire to make a knockout of a film.
