Review of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962) by Kyle S — 17 Jan 2011
Its titular lead is catty and histrionic, and shows a depravity that's gotten no easier to swallow with time. Worth watching for the melodramatic, authentic (Flixster's saying that the "real-life mutual animosity [between Davis and Crawford] came through loud and clear" in the film could hardly be more accurate), still-creepy relationship between Blanche and Jane and their utterly damaged psyches.
Pathetic, horrifying, hilarious ... just like human beings themselves, as we are reminded here.
