Review of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962) by Petros T — 25 Aug 2012
A grotesquely photographed, cartoonishly devilish film featuring tour de force performances from Bette Davis and Joan Crawford and lots of thrills, scares, agony and disgust. The necessary comic reliefs are almost solely provided by the splendid duo of Victor Buono and Marjorie Bennett, thus resulting in a relatively balanced film despite some screenwriting inadequacies.
It's not a flawless picture, but it's certainly memorable. And hauntingly so.
