Review of What Dreams May Come (1998) by Ivan D — 02 Oct 2009
"When I was young, I met this beautiful girl by a lake"- Chris Nielsen.
Bizarre. Bizarre in both good ways & bad ways. In a good way because of the effects, such an eye candy. I want to pause the film every time I get to those scenes. The set design is another factor why this has 5 stars. And most importantly, the cast. The were at their best. Bizarre in a bad way because of the story. Very complicated. Ideas coming from there and there. They have a confusing start. I never knew that they almost broke-up until the end. The middle is worse. The part where the have the best prod. designs is also the part where they have most of the confusing parts. It is very unpredictable in a good/bad way. Because you are still inclined in the remaining minutes of the film up to the end BUT you are confused while getting there. Anyway, with all the bad things I've said, I still think it is ONE OF THE BEST EXISTING FILMS EVER CREATED BY MAN. I will always remember this. It is my father's favorite film.
