Review of What Dreams May Come (1998) by Max H — 11 Aug 2011
Visually its astoundingly beautiful, there haven't been many better looking movies out there. The acting, at least by Cuba Gooding Jr., is mostly good. I've never thought much of Robin Williams as an actor other than a couple of performances (One Hour Photo, Aladdin), because he plays similar type characters or, in the case of his comedies, overacts, but hes tolerable in this role, if a bit outshined.
The story, however, is what tears this movie apart with its hallmark sentimentality, and its tear jerking ways. In spite of that, its worth a watch alone for the visuals, as well as one of the most underrated actors of the 90s.
