Robin Williams is a physician who is killed in an accident on the anniversary of his kids also dying in a car accident. He is left in a bit of limbo where he lives in worlds similar to his wife's art.
He is guided by Cuba Gooding Jr. and tries to reunite with his family to say goodbye. The visuals are amazing, the sequences in the painting are something I haven't seen before. It looks so unique and feels true to the spirit of what they were trying to do.
The story seems to take a backseat to the visuals for the most part until about the third act. By that point, it just got a bit boring since there wasn't much to keep my interest once I got over the visuals.
It is a bit depressing at first, it does have a happy ending of sorts towards the end.
