Review of Whale Rider (2003) by Jonathan A — 13 May 2008
Soundtrack, cinematography, & acting by Keisha Castle-Hughes are excellent. The entire film seems to be a genuine presentation of a Maori cultural perspective adapting to the contemporary day. Powerful and spiritually moving in a way we don't often find in mainstream film- makes it one of my favorites.
