Ugh, this kid made me cry. Poor girl...she was just trying to help her beloved grandfather who kept treating her like crap b/c she was born a girl. Seeing her trying to make some ground & try & try to win her grandfather's approval was nothing short of heartbreaking.
Kudos to Keisha Castle-Hughes. Well deserved Oscar nod. That scene at the school concert? Bawling!! Great film!! Nice showcase of Maori culture & the enternal fight of tradition vs change.
