Review of Wet Hot American Summer (2001) by Kyle H — 26 Oct 2009
An homage to all camp and coming of age movies. Too much like a collection of skits and funny bits saddled with a dumb plot, which makes sense since it's essentially a The State production plus small parts for a bunch of other comedic actors who are relevant now but weren't then.
Some stuff killed (Paul Rudd's character's casually dispensing campers on the side of the road, Paul's Rudd's character in general, the talking can), some stuff bored, and the whole was just ok. Probably crushes it with the stoned. I liked Role Models less, which had the same character and most of the same problems.
