Review of Westworld (1973) by Nate W — 16 Sep 2008
Entertaining and original sci-fi/western set in the future where a vacation resort lets you be part of the Old West, and realistic robots are characters in the town. Of course, the robots malfunction and start taking over and killing the guests.
Yul Brynner is great as the Gunslinger, and James Brolin also has a nice supporting role. The movie's got a good pace to it, though I wish there was more time spent on the robot chaos. Still, it's a fun film, and I finally got to see the film that The Simpsons spoofed.
