Duh duh duh duh duh, DUN DUN DUN DUN. duh duh duh duhduhduh. even though I can only write out the music with duhs and duns, (I may not have gotten it exactly right but oh well) you all know exactly what I'm trying to say.
if you don't, drive to the nearest movie rental store/library, and pick this up RIGHT NOW! and don't do anything until you have watched it. This movie is the single greatest musical Best Picture winner out there.
it has great music, flawless choreography, and the songs themselves are amazing. the acting I really good too (it picked up Supporting Oscars for Bernardo and his girlfriend). the only bad song in the movie was the Maria song.
it was too long and it got annoying very fast. other than that they were all great. "here come the Jets like a bat out of hell someone gets in our way someone don't feel so well" "were gonna cut 'em down to size toniiight were gonna hand 'em a surprise toniiight" you get the idea.
this movies is one of my if not my favorite musical of all time. Final Verdict: Right on. the Academy perfectly picked this as the 1961 Best Picture winner. good job Academy.
