West Side Story is a romantic musical movie, written by Ernest Lehman and directed Jerome Robbins in 1961. The movie starring Natalie Wood and Richard Beymer, who play Maria and Tony, the americans Romeo and Juliette.

The story take place in Manhattan. Two street gangs of youngs boys, the Sharks and the Jets, fight. The Sharks are Puerto Rican immigrants, and the Jets are americans. At the dancing, Tony, the second leader of the Jets, meets Maria, the Sharks leader' little sister. They immediately fall in love. When the two lovers decided to run away together, a fight break out. Bernado (Sharks leader) kills Riff (Jets leader) and Tony kills Bernado. To avenge the Bernado's death, a Puerto rican kills in his turn Tony. Maria is break down. Finally, the three deaths are so shocking for everyone, so the Sharks and the Jets are reconciled.

This movie are very emotional, particularly the dance scene. All the actors are excellents dancers and singers, and very synchronized. The songs are so lively, swinging beat. The love story is very cute at the beginning, and take a dramatic side at the end. It's the same impossible love to Romeo and Juliette. Nobody can't have a tear in seeing the end.

In my mind, West Side Story is a film to see at least one time in a life, a classic.
