'West Side Story' is one of the few musicals I've enjoyed watching, mostly because the musical compositions were solid and the Shakespearean inspiration behind the story was used nicely. The modern touch they gave to the Romeo and Juliet-story was key to the social standards at the time, though they held back during the ending a bit.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed this movie.
