Review of Werewolf of London (1935) by Jason B — 15 Oct 2007
Cinema has come a long way in 70 years. I found myself laughing at some of the absurdity that the age of this film falls victim too. For the first Universal werewolf movie it comes across more like a cheap version of Dr.
Jekyll and Mister Hyde rather than a feral werewolf. The acting is forced and the scripting terrible. "Werewolfery" please. Somehow I think this was a bad film even in 1935. No wonder Universal waited another 5 years before taking another stab at it.
