Review of Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior (2006) by Kaley T — 15 Sep 2007
Surprisingly entertaining. Sakamoto Koichi's years of work for, firstly Toei shows, and secondly the Saban/Disney Power Rangers franchise pays off and the action sequences come across as more than passable ~ only slightly let down by the lack of sound effects and poor BGM.
Both Song and Koyamada handle themselves well during the fights, Komyada especially has several nice scenes showcasing his ability.
Solid wire-work and subtle digital effects also add to the presentation of the action, making this some of the best work Sakamoto's done in years.
In addition, Brenda Song is awesome, full stop. >_>;.
