Review of Wendy and Lucy (2008) by Sunnie D — 25 Feb 2009
Well this was considered to be a sleeper coming into the oscars but truth is it was a sleeper and not in a good way. I felt michelle wiliams performance was very bland and boring, she's capable of better work.
the screenplay to me did not work as a whole because of the fact that it focuses more on the immediate objective rather then the main objective. however I think dog lovers will love this movie. I have not had a pet and maybe thats why to some degree I could not relate to this movie.
to call this movie a triumph is an overstatement. the choice to not have a score in this movie didn't work for it either. i've been a fan of movie that have done that such as dog day afternoon and network but to do it in this movie made an hour and a half seen like an eternity.
