Review of Wendy and Lucy (2008) by Lisa B — 06 Mar 2009
A beautiful, quiet, sweet, sad movie. Michelle Williams is amazing as a young woman on the fringes of society, slowly becoming more and more erased because of her class. Shows both the beautiful and the ugly sides of human nature, and her relationship with her dog, Lucy, is perhaps the most truthful relationship I've ever seen in a movie.
On a personal note, as someone who owns a dog named Lucy who is my best friend, I almost couldn't take this movie. I don't know if I could watch it again, despite how wonderful it was; it was just too much for me, emotionally.
If you do not weep watching this film, you are an evil, evil person with no soul.
