Review of Wendy and Lucy (2008) by Daniel B — 22 Mar 2009

I give this film five stars, not many films get that rating from me. I wish Michelle Williams had received an Oscar nomination for this performance because I think it's the best of her career. This film is heartbreaking to the point where I had tears streaming down my face.

I never get emotional during films, like seriously never, but this film touched my heart. I think anyone who understands the strong bond between a person and their dog would feel the same way. There are so many questions you have about Wendy's past, but it doesn't really matter what got her to this point.

I agree that it is a stark portrayal of what it's like to be poor in the U.S., and how there are not always many options.
