Review of Wendy and Lucy (2008) by Andrejs P — 31 May 2009
Movie featuring Michelle Williams from Dawsons Creek. Yeah its one of those minimalist indie flicks that all the cool people dig. I never really empathized with the lead character. Big deal her dog ran away her car doesnt work and she's stuck in some town with $200. With all the crap going on in the world its really hard to feel sorry for somebody in this situation. RENT a car, quit stealing food, and you dont have to sleep on cardboard outside. Hello, you've got money!!!!Maybe the sad sullen, indie types can relate to it though but I really couldnt. In fact as I'm writing this review I'm realizing how much I didnt like the movie. Not a very believable situation in my opinion.
The only cool part was when the security guy gives her what he considered a lot of money to help her get by. If I felt sorry for anybody in the movie it was this guy not her. His life was almost over and he had accomplished next to nothing while she is young and had her whole life ahead of her. And at least he wasnt sitting around crying about it. I did like Michelle Williams acting though and look forward to seeing her in future flicks.
