An understated film from Director Kelly Reichardt that, in spite of not much of a story, packs a considerable emotional punch. Most of the emotional punch falls squarely on the shoulders of Michelle Williams who delivers a sensational and empathetic performance.
While the plot may be simplistic, the theme is timely and pointed in the examination of economic recession and poverty.
