Review of Wendy and Lucy (2008) by Dan D — 20 Oct 2011
Artfully shot and real, in the style of Gus Van Sant. The acting is convincing. The story, is as simple as stories get, but I was absorbed nevertheless. It's very slow, and I wish there was more exposition and resolution, but Kelly Reichardt's direction is as restrained as you can get, totally devoid of sentiment and formula.
Also, an R rating, really? For a few F words?
