Review of Welcome to the Sticks (2008) by Rick F — 31 May 2009

First of all, it's a very funny movie. Some scenes were absolutely hysterical. Second, it's a wonderful cultural insight into stereotypes the French themselves hold for various regions of their country, in this case Nord Pas de Calais, the "North".

The English subtitles were excellent considering the difficulties in translating the nuances of a dialect. Best line in the film: "Strangers cry twice in the North. When they arrive, and when they leave.
