Review of Welcome to the Rileys (2010) by Johnny G — 07 Feb 2011
To save her or not to save her, that is the question.
I'm pretty sure that Mallory/Allison didn't really ask to be saved, even if she pathetically accepted Doug and Lois barging into her house and life. So, I guess to a degree maybe she did want to be saved, or at least be financially aided. I know I wouldn't trust a stranger sleeping in my bed at night, even if he cleaned my bathroom in the morning.
I'm not sure about this movie. I liked it, but I didn't get emotionally invested, when it was more than necessary judging from the nature of the film. I liked the character dynamics, but it had a very holed plot. Great performances, but not all that great a movie. Too bad, I had higher hopes considering its trailer. The ending is good though - brings down a notch all the optimistic life-changing events.
