Review of Welcome to the Punch (2013) by Neil P — 14 Sep 2013

It feels like this film is caught between being a 2-part TV drama and a cinema release and fails to be good at either. I think the problem is that the film is too short to deliver on various points in the script, If they had spent some more time developing the various relationships then I may have cared a bit more when things start to go wrong.

I never fully felt the relationship between McAvoy and Strong although it was clear the film was going for a Pacino and DeNiro from "heat" vibe. Waste of a decent cast and left me hoping someone would do a better remake of the film down the line.
