Review of Welcome to the Jungle (2013) by Tariq H — 18 May 2014

If you go into this without any big expectations and go with the flow you might just enjoy this desert island adventure. There are some funny moments and Van Damne is not even the main character. Chris (Adam Brody) has been a nice guy and is not getting what he wants.

Now on a desert island, he is forced to find some toughness and confront what he really wants in life. The film asks people if they are really getting what they want in life and if they are taking the right steps to get it.

There really isn't a lot of action or fighting like most JCVD flicks, but the comedy, cute romantic subplot, and entertaining parallels to Lord of the Flies manage to carry it through to the end. If you are looking for some lighter fare in an exotic location, Welcome To The Jungle may just fit the bill.
