Review of Welcome to the Jungle (2013) by Kevin A — 26 Feb 2015

An alright underdog comedy. Adam Brody daydream he save his ad company and overtaking his boss Rob Huebel. Rob saw him did some of his own design for a later pitch and want him to test pitch to him. Assisted by Aaron Takahashi, they both shoot down his idea.

Adam like Megan Boone but is timid to talk to her. The pitch arrive earlier and Adam has no idea. His idea is stolen by Rob and he nail the deal. He tell his friend Eric Edelstein he will report to the boss Dennis Haysbert but Rob already convince him Adam is disillusion.

The boss send everyone to a 2 days 2 nights wilderness teamwork camp led by Jean-Claude Van Damme. They board a cargo plane to an island for the camp. Van Damme is already targeting Adam for been the trouble-maker even though he is not.

Rob take Adam binoculars to leer at the ladies changing clothes. Their camp site is at a beautiful beach. 1st exercise is to scream, Van Damme want Adam to scream like he is squeezing his balls. The blindfolded 3 leg sprint, he set explosive to make them panic.

Adam is pissing and he saw the old pilot dead. Then the ladies saw a tiger. Van Damme assure them there's no tiger and he was attacked. He fell to the cliff and disappear. Megan try to console Kristen Schaal.

Rob tell her he fallen for her and she think he is sick. Eric meddle with the plane radio and it doesn't work. Rob says he is in charge since he is highest ranking. Kristen is bitten by a snake and Rob ask Aaron to use the machete to cut her ankle.

Adam ask her to describe the snake and safely presume it is not poisonous, then he apply leaves on the wound to make her feel better. Unlike Rob who want to piss on her wound. Everyone except the bad duo vote Adam to be in charge.

He gather everyone to find food and create thick smoke. Rob interrupted and suggest a fat guy be sacrifice as food. The rest all snooze off after awhile. Adam can't bring them up to do their duty.

Rob and Aaron appear with a dead wild boar (dead for weeks) and a flask of coffee. The rest join his side immediately. During camp fire, Rob interrupt Kristen talking and screw the rules. He get everyone to join him to revolt Adam.

Rob put somme hallucinate drug in the coffee and everyone get into horny mood and mass orgy. Next day, Adam, Megan, Kristen and Eric left for the other side of the island for their own survival. Adam make a sweet dessert for Megan and impress her with his other side skills.

Kristen is shitting and she found Van Damme, wounded badly by the tiger. He never was in the military as proclaimed. He show them where he been hiding in the jungle - a metal bunker. The radio is spoilt but if the plane radio can be taken out to match, Eric could work something out.

Rob has been feeding the other the weed and all of them are wasted, worship him like God. Adam try to reason with Rob, who establish himself as the tribe leader and everyone else seems brainwashed and obey him.

Off course Rob don't want to give up his God status. Eric is tired of Adam guts. Megan tell him he is too nice and now is the time to stand up tough. At night they go knock out the guards and steal the plane radio.

One of the guard wake up and alerted the rest. They manage to accomplish the mission but forgotten about Van Damme. Adam go out alone. The baddies found the bunker and caught them. Adam goes to badass mode to save his friends.

Rob want to make Megan his bride and execute Eric and Kristen. Megan took back the flare gun when Rob left his throne. Adam made a hand glide and shout to the people he is the real God and he can fly.

All of them are intrigue. He challenge Rob to a duel. Adam manage to beat him down. The rest obey to Adam. Immediately they saw a ship. Rob climb up and going to strike Adam. Van Damme give him a kick in the face.

Adam shoot the flare at the statue to create signal. Finally the ship sees them. Van Damme is arrested for impersonating military officer. He want Adam to write to him and visit him in prison. Adam then proceed to kiss Megan.

Back to the office, Dennis promote Adam to Senior VP. But he says the job sucks and quit along with Megan. Rob is sad and alone on the island and the tiger roars greet him..
