Review of Welcome to the Jungle (2013) by James R — 06 Sep 2015
Watched this today randomly on Netflix and surprisingly enough I actually ended up sitting through and watching the whole thing. The film is about a company that gets sent to an island for a mandatory team building exercise.
The movies main protagonist is Chris (Adam Brody) a guy with ideas for the company, but he's consistently getting his ideas taken by the VP Phil (Rob Huebel). They are taken to the island by a self proclaimed tough guy named Storm (Jean-Claude Van Damme).
Storm is in Chris's face from the get go and they don't get along. Soon enough Storm is lost in the Jungle and it's up to Chris to guide his fellow co-workers to get help and survive the perils of the island.
The movie is a low budget comedy and I will say at times I actually did laugh out loud. It gets absolutely ridiculous by the last half hour. The lines are super cheesy and it just doesn't come off as that funny.
The performances are decent, but nothing to brag about. Overall, I would say skip this one it's a dud!
