Review of Welcome to the Dollhouse (1996) by Sam D — 06 Dec 2009
Ah, growing up. What a horrible time that was. Realistic depiction of one girls struggle to get through middle school alive. Bullied and tormented, Dawn, a character well performed by the uncomfortable Heather Matarazzo, is just trying her best to get by, but somehow manages to make everything worse.
This subtly comic story is hailed as one of the best independent films of the 90's. Definitely worth a look if you're into coming-of-age movies.
