Review of Welcome to Sajjanpur (2008) by Shilpa S — 24 Sep 2008
Besides Mithya, I think, this is the best film by far this year. Complete with the old world charm, rustic dialogues, simple characters and socially aware and earthy treatment. Love the way it binds all the ties in the end. Its also a nice change from westernized approach in terms of treatment. Reminds so much of those indigeneous new wave films of 80s.
All the actors are in form. From Talpade to Amrita to Yashpal to Ila Arun to even Putru. Lovely Film, indeed!
