Review of Welcome to Mooseport (2004) by General S — 27 Apr 2007
This is a romance movie, period. Director Donald Petrie and company just tried to cover up the romance plot by writing in an attempt at a political comedy. So perhaps one could classify this as a political romantic comedy.
Who knows. Sometimes movies do cross more than two genres. However, (as in the case with this movie) trying to cross more than two genres leads to a train wreck of a movie. This movie was put out a a time when Ray Romano was beginning to rise in popularity.
Most people had all but forgotten Gene Hackman. This odd couple of sorts smply had little to no onscreen chemistry. It is definitely ia a forgettable movie.
