Review of Welcome to Dongmakgol (2005) by Fung L — 14 Nov 2007

It is a crazy, imaginative movie which points out the ridiculousness of warfare by funs and jokes. In particular I like the scene where the soliders of both sides pointing guns to each other but in the middle of them the villagers were gradually all gone - what the hell the soldiers are doing!? - what are they in fact fighting for and against? Anyway, whether wars are aimless or not, the movie reflects the reality that wars always have sad endings.

By the way, it should be noted that this movie has never been brought to HK's cinemas - please see what HK people need.
