Review of Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins (2008) by Tahj S — 27 Jan 2009
Ok, the plot is cliche, and very predictable, we have seen the wacky meet the family formula films played out to hell. We already know what's going to happen, so their is no originality in this film.
But why did I give it 3 Stars because this is the Martin, that I wanted to see. the in your face, raunchy humor he garnered with Martin Payne on his TV series is in this movie. Even though this is PG-13, the comedy is not similar to the cornball humor in Wild Hogs, Lawrence as well with the cast of other comedians such as Monique, Cedric The Entertainer, and Mike Epps, bring in some laughs. But this is the Lawrence we remember from the TV show, (the telling it like it is) Humor. I recommend for any fan of the tv show!
