Review of Weirdsville (2007) by Jared B — 09 Oct 2007
Ill admit I dont really watch a lot of fliks when it comes canuck, homegrown cinema, but I was eager to check this one out because of the filmmaker behind it, Alan Moyle, he did 2 of the best cult teen/coming of age movies from the late 80s and early 90s, PUMP UP THE VOLUME and EMPIRE RECORDS.
I am also a huge fan of drug cinema and this movie is defenitely about being fucked up on drugs, while this is no SPUN, it is still highly inventive, quirky enough and not in a pretentious manner, this flik is just a nice entertaining watch on a late night, getting high wldnt hurt either cuz this movie serves up a fresh enough dish of whacky camp and cliched stoner antics.
