Review of Weird Science (1985) by Darren H — 30 Jun 2013
Likeable outcasts Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith create the dream girl in Kelly LaBrock who, through a series of wisecracks and gags, helps the boys discover confidence and self-esteem.
Based on the EC Comics story "Made of the Future" (January/February 1951, Issue 5) and penned by director John Hughes in three days, this is a consistently fun teen sci-fi comedy for an undemanding audience.
It spawned a television series (1994-1998) and features Bill Paxton and Robert Downey, Jr. in supporting roles.
