Review of Weird Science (1985) by Natasha A — 31 Jan 2009

Just watched this (for about the hundreth time), and I can't believe it's still as funny as I remember! It's looking seriously dated now, but gives you a perfect snapshot of 1980's teens! The hair! The shoulder pads! The horrendous make up! Yikes! Robert Downey Junior looks incredibly young but then this movie is nearly 25 years old! Anthony Michael Hall is great and Kelly Le Brock oozes sex appeal just like she did in The Woman in Red with Gene Wilder.

Bill Paxton is hilarious as the obnoxious older brother, but my favourite bit is the frozen grandparents in the kitchen cupboard.
