The scenes surrounding Lisa's inception are completely ludicrous, so much so that they establish early on that Weird Science is not so much a work of science fiction as it is a goofy fairy tale. And once you accept that, it becomes significantly more enjoyable.
And that scene with Anthony Michael Hall in the blues bar is absolutely brilliant.
