Review of Weiner (2016) by Private U — 10 Sep 2016
Made (in)famous outside of the US for his accidental tweeting and sexting prowess, Anthony Weiner allowed a documentary film crew in to watch his race for the Democratic nomination for New York Mayoral race.
As a film this is a fascinating insight into the irreconcilable contradictions of the United States political game. The obsession with the "gotcha" by the media; the relentless pursuit of power; the fascination with political actors private lives; the never-ending campaign.
Watch it for what it has to say about American politics and for a rare glimpse of the most influential women in American politics, Huma Abedin, the most reluctant participant of all in this saga.
