Review of Weiner (2016) by Brandon W — 26 Nov 2016
Wiener is directed by Josh Kriegman and Elyse Steinberg, and this documentary is about Anthony Weiner's political life during the 2013 mayoral election, and things come crawling back to him when there are news about his sexting and sexualized photos.
I honestly had seen this before based on trailers, and I didn't had any intention to see it. Even with the high reviews, I wasn't like looking for the movie first thing. The only reason I watched it, was because YouTube had videos that were a bit about Anthony Weiner, but I didn't see them, and managed to record it when I did see that on HBO.
So after watching it, I can see why people talked about him a lot. The movie is very investing for the fact of Anthony's passionate personality, his life of what he's like, and how he wanted to make a difference despite his situation from years ago.
When tensions start to rise, it gets more interesting. There are some reviewers that say that this movie is funny, and I didn't find it funny, only in the sense of the movie getting more pathetic, but in a good way.
Wiener is a very investing film that is going to relate to people in terms of the 2016 presidential election.
