Review of Weekend at Bernie's II (1993) by Steve B — 12 Oct 2011
Those crazy kids and a dead body are back again in this 80's comedy caper. Bernie lies peacefully in the city morgue until Richard and Larry land in circumstances where they're on the trail for missing cash that Bernie hid.
But besides a safety deposit box key they need Bernie's help. Also on their tails is a voodoo mogul and her henchmen also in pursuit of the treasure. It's a spell that is put on the body that brings an all dancing Bernie to life, well zombie-fied.
So the chase is on with an assortment of amusing scenes. The conga dance sequence and hiding the body in a suitcase and fridge for starters. In this movie I believe that Bernie gets more punishment for our viewing pleasure.
One of my favourite scenes is when he's pulling the out of control tourist cart! Family fun, amusing, 80's and lighthearted. About as good as the first movie if not slightly better in my opinion.
