Review of Weekend at Bernie's (1989) by Jenny L — 10 Aug 2009
Surprisingly, both funny and watchable.Richard and Larry are both likable characters who bring a smile to your face. Andrew McCarthy is particularly comic as Larry. The two have contrasting personalities, but this adds to the fun.
The story is pretty lame, but somehow, it works. With humourous gags and quips lasting the entire film, this is a light-hearted wonder that will entertain and amuse.Despite the fact that it is completely ridiculous, at no point is the film trying to be serious.
.. Come on people, this is a comedy!
