Review of Weekend (2011) by Ollie W — 10 Nov 2011
Believe the hype. This is an utterly superb, ultra-realistic, documentation of an achingly authentic relationship between quiet and unassuming Russell and Artist Glen. The weekend they spend together is beautifully shot, acted and written, with Haigh's closely observed and yet never obtrusive or gratuitous direction painting a breathtakingly believable and heart-wrenchingly involving picture of pure, unadulterated passion and desire and perhaps ultimately love.
Superb film, easily my favorite film of 2011, please watch it.
